Effective today, the Elizabethtown Fair will be implementing a Zero Tolerance Policy for any kind of physical or verbal altercation. We are a family oriented environment and will not permit this going forward. Those who commit these acts will be issued a No Trespass Notice by the Elizabethtown Borough Police and a member of the Fair’s security team. Anyone who is issued this notice will not be able to return to the 2011 Elizabethtown Fair. Remember…no warning…immediate removal.
A Baby Photo Contest will again take place during the Elizabethtown Fair this year. Children two years of age or younger are eligible. The deadline for entry is noon on Saturday, August 20th. The contest is being run by the Elizabethtown Fire Department. Photographs may be dropped at the Firehouse daily between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. or by contacting Marc Hershey at 367-4808. Photographs will also be accepted in the Fair Office between 9 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 20th.
Although any 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 photographs are acceptable for entry, it is recommended that vertical 8 x 10 photographs be submitted for display purposes. Photocopies will be accepted. Parent’s and child’s name, address and phone number are to appear on the back of the photograph.
The photos will be displayed at the Fair throughout Fair Week. It is recommended that photos be picked up Saturday, August 27th, at the Fair’s Information Booth, following the announcement of winners. Any photos not picked up at this time will be available for pick-up at the Firehouse. All photos must be claimed by September 10, 2011.
For voting purposes, during Fair Week, one cent equals one vote. All forms of United States money are acceptable. Prizes will be in the form of U.S. savings bonds. Winners of 1st ($100 bond), 2nd ($50 bond) and 3rd ($50 bond) place will be announced at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27th.
The contest is being sponsored by the Elizabethtown Optimists and coordinated by the Elizabethtown Fire Department. Proceeds from the contest will benefit the the Elizabethtown Fire Department and the Elizabethtown Fair.

The sixteenth annual Pet Photo Contest will be held at the Elizabethtown Fair this year. All pets are eligible.
Photographs should be dropped off at McCracken’s Pet Food and Supply, 700 N. Market St, Elizabethtown on Mondays and Fridays between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Photos may also be sent to Karen Karnes, 632 Mulberry Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or dropped at the Fair Office on Saturday, August 20th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Premium Books for the 38th Annual Elizabethtown Fair are now available at Brandt’s Farm Supply, Elizabethtown Borough Office, Elizabethtown Public Library, Groff Meats, Hostetter’s Hardware, McCracken’s Feed Mill, McCracken’s Pet Food and Supply, Messick Farm Equipment, White Oak Mills and Winters Heritage House Museum. These books include information on livestock and competitive competitions as well as children’s and adult contests. Some of these entries have early deadlines.

We’re planning our annual chicken barbecue to raise money for the Fair. Proceeds will Benefit the Future of the Fair along with the 2011 Fair. Full Dinners are $7.00 and a half chicken only is $4.00.
